THE MARY ORJI VISIONARIES COLLECTIVE MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of The Mary Orji Visionaries Collective is to promote healing, awakenings and purpose to the collective by bringing music and art that taps into the higher power and consciousness of the universe, by respecting the universal law that we are not above or under anyone but instead are made in the image of the Creator and are here to love and create music that transcends gender, skin color and ideologies. Listen and comprehend what we do it’s all a story line of a soul's evolution.

The Mary Orji Visionaries Collective was founded in 2021 by Mary Orji. Mary, at the time, was searching for a deeper meaning during her sophomore year at Berklee College of Music. Feeling isolated and not connected to the community, she decided from that summer forward she would create a universe and her own bubble inside of the apparatus. That summer of 2021, Mary would find the first two visionaries of the band, Ezra Martin-Rosenthal and Roella Oloro, who would meet with her on Thursdays and mornings, playing free jazz sessions with Mary. As time went on, Mary Orji would start to find visionaries such as Ovaun Matthews, Chauncy Scruggs, Esther Adebayo, Treshor Webster, Maliyah Woodie, Alex Ortiz, C The Third, Miles Thompson, Ana Delgado Cruz, Will Macnamara, Remington Strecker, Leila Chapell, Adina Baptiste, and Mae Ya Carter Ryan to help her carry out the vision of her first debut visual musical album, "Conception." For two semesters of her junior year in college, Mary and her band rehearsed and brought CONCEPTION to life in two recording sessions on March 18th, 2022, and April 17th, 2022. The Visual album was recorded on April 30th, 2022, at Boston Funk in downtown Boston. Five months later, Conception was released on September 26th, 2022. It created its own life force with multiple shows, and the Collective was able to bring it to multiple venues in Boston. One of the biggest stages the band had was the Berklee Performance Center Stage, in which they made history as a student-run performance that was the first by a black woman saxophonist student. After that performance, in general, more opportunities have opened for the band, and they have opened for acts such as Jackson Powell, Seba Molnar, and many more. Also They got the opportunity to play at BAMS Fest in Boston after Terri Lynne Carrington, featuring Tia Fuller, played on the same stage as Grand Master Flash. Over time, the collective has expanded and added visionaries such as Steven Amoikon and Samuel Apoutou.
